Why do images, pictures, art have a powerful impact on us?

I think that humans are very drawn to visuals (visually inclined). Even alphabets are simplified forms of visuals (drawings) in the past. It is a form of communication.

Why is the modern world dominated by unrealistic images of the body?

25 thousands years ago, the first sculpture, Venus was formed. It was found 25 thousands years later. It was known to a brain scientist that the Venus was exaggerated because the sculptor wanted to show what matters to them the most, just like the results of the seagulls and the 3 red stripes. While in Egypt, it was to maintain consistency and order, by using a grid. They were obsessed with order that was due to the culture they had. For the Greek, they first created distinctive figures but this didn't last as it bores them. They wanted it to be more interesting, to create "A human more human". They cared alot about the physical appearance. Humans hate reality and has instinct to go further. From what I think, human forms are exaggerated today because of commercial means. They want to create a desired human figure that everyone wants to have. Perfection.

"The pursuit of perfection includes giving up other things. This in itself is a contradiction. Can there be 'perfection' where there's loss? It is the illusory or even falsehood that can be said to be truly perfect.

Advertising Concept - Rebranding Adidas

I changed my central idea of adidas to SPEED.
Break Boundaries.

My mindmap

The initial logos

Chosen logo
The arrow symbolizes speed. I used this arrow because it has a sharp point that seems like heading forward endlessly. The three stripes were kept to represent speed, breaking boundaries and freeing yourself.

After that, I further developed my adidas logos. There’s one adidas logo that has this red color sharp point to show fast speed (which is my central idea)

WHAT WILL THEY TAX NEXT?

hahahahahaha. i think that this advertisement is really funny. this is so true, it's happening in singapore too.

Short narrative

This advertisement definitely hits me because of the humour. I think the humour really goes well for this ad and I like it as it gives a new kind of feeling about waterproof cameras unlike normal ads. And the actors were well chosen, there's a huge contrast between the man (nerd) and the women (hot babes) adding more spice to the ad (capturing the audience attention because of 1. the hot babes 2. the scene of the ad which is the beach 3. the nerd).
There's also a suspense (where the hot babes faces totally changed) making the audience wonder what happen (this grabs hold of the audience attention). And when they grabbed hold of the audience attention, they showed the product of the ad which is the waterproof camera.
Lastly, it shows this happy delighted nerd (who we never had expected will take those underwater pictures of the half naked hot babes) looking at the pictures he taken. The last part of the ad really made me laugh hard because of the look on his face. This ad is so much better than just showing the quality and the functionality of the waterproof camera. Therefore, I think that this advert is effective HOWEVER, if they were able to show a little information about how good the quality of the photo taken, it would have worked better.

The 1st one, I made a font whereby the A looks like a
Mountain and when you combine the last A and S together,
It looks like there’s a hidden shoe. Also, I added the 3 stripes,
To show that adidas always look forward to new things and
Always stay up to trend

The 2nd one, is almost the same like the first one, but this time,
I used a different font to show the stability of adidas and that
No other sports companies can bring them down.

The 3rd one, I used the same font as the first one but this time,
The background has colours of the olympics logo to represent
Victory.

The 4th one has the combination of being stable, undefeatable and
Victorious

As for the last one, I used 3 groups of 3 stripes, representing,
Durability, distinctive, professional, trendy, victorious, well made, cool, bold and passionate

2 Advertisements that I think that's most effective.

1. Family Healthcare "You Love Your Family" Commercial

This commercial is targeted at families. The spin was treated in a sense that they want to "buy" the trust of the families who are their targeted audience. By doing so, they used clips associating to family love that would struck people's minds that they will really give the best care to their patients just like they would for their own families. The colour used is more to the orange representing warmness and welcoming. Therefore, I think that this advertisement is effective in buying the families' hearts because they know that people love their families more than anything else and would want the best healthcare. Afterall, health is the most important thing in life.

2. Brazilian Toyota

This commercial is targeted at car buyers who doesn't want the car they choose to be flawless.
The spin was treated in the sense that there was suspense in the commercial, to grab their audience's attention. The suspense was created when from the twist, where the guy in the car turned his car to another direction and ignore the pretty lady. It kept the audience wondering why did he turned his car? a pretty lady needs his help and he just ignored her. And at this point of time, he said this sentence, "Have you ever seen a BROKEN toyota?" Immediately, the thought of 'Toyota NEVER break down' is registered in the audience minds. Therefore, it is effective in the sense that the commercial managed to grab what their targeted audience would like about their car which is to be flawless.
